Client Story
A multi-state regulated retail operator
A Regulated Retail Rollout Built to Open on Time
A repeatable infrastructure rollout, delivered more than 700 miles from our home base, kept inspection timelines intact and brought each location online in under 48 hours.
Why this story is anonymous
We do not publish client names, locations, dates, store counts, or identifying system details. Our client agreements require discretion, and combining those facts would make the operator too easy to identify. This is part of the same security standard we ask clients to follow.
The situation
Every opening depended on infrastructure, compliance, and construction arriving at the same time.
A multi-state regulated retail operator was opening new pharmacy-style locations more than 700 miles from our home base. Each site carried its own floor plan, infrastructure conditions, and compliance requirements.
Point of sale had to connect reliably to regulatory tracking. Controlled product handling depended on required cameras and alarms. Secure wireless and wired networks had to support daily operations. Inspection timelines gated the opening date, so unfinished technology work was not a minor delay. It could keep a location from opening.
The work also had to move around contractors whose schedules did not always hold. Our part still had to be ready when inspectors and operations teams needed it.
The design
One rollout standard, tailored to each floor plan.
We evaluated the floor plan for each location before equipment moved. That review covered device placement, network layout, cable and power dependencies, camera coverage, alarm requirements, and the sequence needed to reach inspection readiness.
Each network was designed for the site rather than copied without context. Secure Wi-Fi supported approved mobile work. Wired connections carried point of sale and security systems. Redundancy and failover protected operations from a single connection or device failure.
Floor-plan review
Equipment placement, network layout, camera coverage, and compliance dependencies resolved before the team arrived on site.
Secure store network
Separate wireless and wired needs designed around point of sale, security systems, staff access, and regulated operations.
Redundancy and failover
Connectivity and critical equipment planned so a single failure would not take the location out of operation.
Inspection sequence
Technology dependencies mapped to the opening schedule, with room to work around delays elsewhere on the site.
The differentiator
The install started at our facility, not at the store.
Before anything shipped, our team configured and tested the equipment at our facility. That included point-of-sale systems and software, routers and switches, security cameras, and alarms.
Pre-staging turned an unfamiliar job site into a controlled deployment. Equipment arrived with known configurations, documented connections, and tested dependencies. It reduced the amount of troubleshooting that had to happen while other contractors were still working around us.
The complete package shipped in secured containers under a detailed delivery plan. The same process could then be repeated without treating every location like a new experiment.
The deployment
Two people on site, under 48 hours per location.
Two 3rd Element team members traveled to each location to install, configure, and test the environment. The work covered the network, point of sale, cameras, alarms, connectivity, and the handoff into existing operations.
Installation was completed in under 48 hours per location. When other trades fell behind, the team adjusted the sequence without letting those delays push the technology work past the inspection timeline.
Post-deployment on-site support carried each location through opening. Ongoing remote support then kept the environment connected to the same operating standard after the deployment team left.
The outcome
Every location opened on time and fully operational.
Inspection timelines held. Systems were integrated into the operator's existing processes. Each location opened with point of sale, connectivity, cameras, alarms, and supporting infrastructure working together.
The proof was not one fast installation. It was a repeatable rollout process that worked across multiple sites, at distance, under regulatory and deadline pressure. Planning happened before shipping, verification happened before travel, and the on-site team arrived ready to execute rather than discover the environment for the first time.
The result
What changed.
Every location opened on time and fully operational, with inspection timelines held and new systems integrated into existing operations.
